Hello, 2023! Amplify is expanding

Director Will Kearney is pleased to announce that we have expanded our service offering to the Waikato region, with subdivision projects confirmed in the Hamilton and Cambridge areas into 2023. Amplify Electrical will be providing the full spectrum of electrical work for these subdivisions, including mains installation, prewire, and fit-off.

Like everyone, whilst there has been some short-term curtailment of new building activity due to COVID and inflation, particularly in Auckland, in the long term we are excited to provide electrical services in NZ's Golden Triangle. There is strong development activity here, including industrial, commercial, and residential sectors, and it is great to see our long-term development partners continue to expand in these regions with Amplify on board.

Auckland Council recently outlined its vision for Auckland's growth in favor of greater building height and density across the city. In theory, this is great news for developers - but the need to consider the built environment around the development and the capacity of the networks is more important than ever.

If you are considering developing, we highly recommend Amplify completes a preliminary investigation into the availability of electrical services at the proposed site of development.

We have seen this quite a lot recently on development sites that have a higher density of housing where the availability of power is not considered until a later stage in the project and has not been allowed for in the budget.

Amplify Electrical will contact the energy provider and investigate the capacity of the network to allow for new development before you are too far down the road. At times, the cost for a transformer to allow for new development can cost upwards of $100,000+.

Amplify Electrical is working hard to ease the pressure of inflation on our clients It will come as no surprise that construction material price inflation and labour constraints have led to high inflation in construction costs. Amplify Electrical works proactively with our clients to ensure that they are communicated with at all times should there be any price changes. We understand that fixed costs are important for developers in times when building supplies and products are increasing in price throughout a project’s lifecycle. We pride ourselves on our close relationshipwith our suppliers and this means that even in this market we are able to get extremely competitive prices for our development partners. We do everything in our power to ensure that any price increases have as minimal an impact on the quoted price of your project as possible. We provide options for our clients to purchase material upfront at the beginning of the project, and can store these securely offsite at no extra cost for our clients.
